Racing Aspirations:

“Learn as much as possible from this fantastic group and improve my racecraft, especially in downforce cars. Top three in Expert class within three years.”

Racing Experience:
Competed since 1999 in club races with my Caterham (Lotus Seven replica), which I built with my wife from a kit and is still road legal. Endurance racing for various teams with Mazda RX-7s as well as Datsun 240Z, and took prize money home with a rented Renault Sport Racer.  In 1998 and 1999, competed in the Virginia City Hillclimb in Nevada, getting the fastest time for 1600cc engined car.

Co-founded and drove for Team Birkinsport in 2004, a four-driver, two- car team that won the 2004 NASA Western Endurance Racing Championship (WERC)

Most Memorable
Racing Achievement:
The last round of NASA's WERC was a three-hour night race at Thunderhill. I drove our Birkin Super Seven for three hours non-stop to a first-place finish, scoring the last necessary points for the Team to clench an overall championship win.  Being part of that team and sharing the season with Top Gun Commander Dave Harris and ex-professional racers Steve Romine and Woody Harris was a huge honor and a lot of fun!

Favorite Race Track
& Why:

“Infineon, because it is the most technical and beautiful track I know.”

Juan Manuel Fangio, one of the greatest drivers of all time. Paul Newman, who at age 70 won the IMSA GTS class at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Hobbies/Interests:
Used to do aerobatic flying (but not in a while). Playing classical trumpet.

Ph.D. in Computer Science.
