“Have fun, be quick, race with some of tomorrow's stars, and hang out with a terrific bunch of guys!”

Racing Experience: |
“I began preparing for this sport before I even had a driver's license and I could barely see over the top of the dashboard in my father's '65 Mustang. After washing it every Saturday, (if no one was watching) I would do donuts with it in the yard. Within a year of getting a license I had put the family station wagon on two wheels- twice! In college my advisor was the guy who developed ground effects for Lotus's F1 cars. After deciding against a career in motorsports I contented myself with a succession of sports cars - until one day, on a lark, I took a Jim Russell class at Laguna Seca in an old Van Diemen FF. I was instantly, irrevocably hooked. I put my Porsche up for sale the next day, bought a FF, and never looked back. I discovered FF2000 two years ago, and it was nearly as much of a revelation as FF was. Aero! Power! Gs! What a great class!”

Racing Achievement: |
“My first pole in FF, in the super competitive San Francisco region. I led every lap of that race until being drafted at the checker by a certain James Hakewill!”

Favorite Race Track
& Why: |
“Sears Point (oops, I mean Infineon). It just doesn't get any better than the back section at Sears, though Laguna's darn good too!”
Racing Hero: |
Dan Gurney. “A great driver, constructor and racing pioneer from the heyday of the sport, he drove everything from stock cars to dirt trackers to Le Mans protoypes to F1, and he was fast in all of them. I had the privilege of owning a Gurney Eagle FF and meeting Dan a few years ago. What a great guy! The sport could use a lot more like him.

Hobbies/Interests: |
“Music. I play the harpsichord, precursor to the piano. Playing Bach is almost as good as racing, albeit in a quite different way.”

“A buddy and I wrote Apple's iTunes software and helped develop the iPod and the Apple music store. It wouldn't have happened if I hadn't heard about MP3 on the radio on the way to a race...” |
